Women’s Shoes Trend: I Love Candy
Pastel tones were seen on the catwalks of Marc Jacobs, Preen and Richard Nicholl to name just a few. And this trend has trickled down to retailers ready for next season. They have incorporated pastel tones into casualwear and more wearable designs, taking key elements from the show stopping creations of the top designers. So it’s not just women’s shoes that have turned sugary sweet.
How you wear your pastels is up to you. There are easy ways to try out this trend without taking big risks, including with your choice of footwear and denim. You can be brave and turn heads in head to toe candy colours or even opt for pastel accents with candy coloured accessories. Just remember to stick to the same colour base if you wear pastels from head to toe.
Pastels also tap into the sport luxe trend that we’ll be buying into next season. Think feminine with a sporty edge and opt for racer back necklines and breathable mesh panelling on mini dresses, as seen at Stella McCartney. Or team pastel toned high tops with matching skinny jeans and a soft jersey t-shirt for laid-back cool. The key is to match the shade of your shoes to the rest of your outfit, or for a more subtle look pair them with blue denim or monochrome.
With women’s shoes you’ll be spoilt for choice with the amount of candy coloured footwear to choose from. Opt for anything from pointed court shoes and patent platforms (as pictured, from ASOS for $90.90) for parties and nights out, to loafers for a day at the office, and high tops for relaxed weekends at home. There really is a type of shoe to suit every mood and occasion. It’s just up to you how you wear them!
